About Us

Our homes are not merely standard A-rated energy efficient homes. They achieve exceptional performance across all areas of the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP), with EPC scores exceeding 100 for energy performance and operating beyond carbon neutrality, resulting in negative energy costs for lighting, heating, and hot water that enable a lifestyle of sustainable living beyond zero.

We believe in a future where your home is self-sufficient and your energy bills are truly net zero

Living in a net zero energy bill home offers greater energy independence. Homeowners are less affected by fluctuations in energy prices and grid outages as they generate their own renewable energy, which aligns with modern values of environmental responsibility, financial prudence, and technological advancement.

In fact, our energy bills go beyond our net zero energy bill concept in SAP, resulting in negative energy costs for lighting, heating, and hot water that enable a lifestyle of sustainable living beyond zero.

Fuel poverty reduction

Our homes help reduce fuel poverty with the ability to trade surplus energy via a peer-to-peer network or to the National Grid at optimum times via our AI system.

EPC rating

The homes at our Sennen development have Energy Performance Certificates surpassing 100A, indicating their zero emission status.

External Verification

Our credentials are verified by independent third parties, such as Planet Mark, to validate the energy efficiencies of our homes. We refrain from and are not an advocate of ‘internal greenwashing’ as a means of verifying the performance of our homes.

Living beyond zero

Our homes are designed and constructed to produce more energy than they consume over the course of a year, resulting in a negative energy bill (by SAP). These homes typically incorporate energy-efficient features such as solar panels, high-performance insulation, innovative window configurations, energy-efficient appliances, and advanced heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. By maximising their energy efficiency and integrating renewable energy sources, our homes minimise their environmental impact while providing comfortable and sustainable living spaces.

Our energy strategies differ from our competitors and reduce our reliance on an already stretched National Grid, promoting environmental sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint, contributing to a cleaner and greener planet.  We have partnered with Lowen Energy to implement their innovative micro-grid and virtual microgrid solutions, enabling on-site renewable energy generation as a primary energy supplier and ensuring power is always available. This power is distributed to homes through a centralised battery system or aggregated individual batteries within the microgrid. These versatile models can be integrated into new developments or retrofitted into existing properties and apartments, offering flexible solutions for sustainable energy management.

Refurbishment of Existing Homes

In addition to our developments, we offer a dedicated construction service focused on refurbishing existing housing stock to enhance energy efficiency, providing a crucial step towards sustainable living, and addressing fuel poverty.  Through measures, such as retrofitting insulation, upgrading windows and doors, and installing energy efficient heating and cooling systems, these renovations substantially reduce energy consumption and lower utility bills.

Moreover, integrating smart technologies like programmable thermostats and energy efficient appliances further enhances home efficiency while minimising the homes carbon footprint and improving occupant comfort and wellbeing. Through thoughtful renovation, we are committed to transforming outdated properties into sustainable homes that prioritise carbon reduction, promote energy savings and contribute to environmental preservation.

Corporate Partnerships

We proudly endorse and sponsor Cornwall Wildlife Trust with their work to safeguard and rejuvenate crucial seagrass meadows throughout Cornwall. Specifically, we champion their initiatives to preserve the blue carbon habitats of St Austell Bay. By supporting this project, we aim to provide a flourishing marine ecosystem, ensuring the preservation and health of its blue carbon habitats – seagrass and maer. These habitats serve as vital sanctuaries for marine wildlife while also playing a crucial role in carbon capture.

At Carbon Neutral Homes, we actively support Moor Trees in their mission to restore native broadleaf woodland. We contribute to their vital work of preserving and enhancing natural habitats, aligning with our mission to create a more sustainable future for generations to come.
